Milwaukie High School Baseball Team is Running Bases at Sweet Tomatoes for their 6th Annual Waffle Feed Fundraiser!

There are numerous ways generous people like to give back to their community. Whether it is writing a check, volunteering, or participating in a fundraiser event, people find ways to support worthy causes.

As example of that is Matt Entrikin, General Manager of the Sweet Tomatoes restaurant in Portland, OR, and Coach Phil Marchant of Milwaukie High School (MHS), teaming up on a “Waffle Feed” fundraiser in 2011 to give back to the school community.  This year, the sixth anniversary of the annual event will be held Saturday, March 12, 2016, at the Matt’s Sweet Tomatoes at 13011 Southeast 84th Avenue, Clackamas, OR.

This fundraiser, which runs from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., benefits the MHS baseball families by helping them raise money for the baseball program, which provides uniforms, equipment, a hitting facility, and supports the travel budget for away games.

Beverages, fresh fruit, waffles, biscuits & gravy, and sausage links will be served for breakfast at Sweet Tomatoes by 50 students in the baseball program. This fundraiser involves teamwork, like on the field. The baseball players will experience what it is like to give back to the community by serving in a restaurant. They will be divided into teams and guests will be given the full-service treatment. They will seat guests, take drink and food orders, serve food, check on guests, bus the tables, and prepare for the next guests.

Over the past 5 years, $14,550 has been raised to help the program.

“This year we want to see as many families, friends, neighbors, and community join in on the “Waffle Feed” fundraiser. With your support, you are truly the MVP of the baseball team. Help make this fundraiser a home run by swinging by,” Matthew says.
