Superfood: Walnuts

Did you know that the walnuts are the oldest food known to have originated from a tree? Since 7000 B.C. humans have been enjoying this superfood and the health benefits they are said to hold.

Just 14 walnut halves provide more than twice your daily dose of alpha-linolenic acid, an omega-3 fat that’s been attributed to:

  • Improving memory
  • Increasing coordination
  • Lowering blood pressure
  • Decreasing “bad” cholesterol

We’ve decided to add a twist to these nuts, making them a delicious addition to our Featured March Salad: the Mandarin Spinach with Caramelized Walnuts (there’s only a few days left!). Have you tried this salad yet? If not, you can always try making it yourself, find the recipe here.
