But there are other fruits and vegetables that deserve the spotlight this season.
They may be called “sweet” potatoes, but they are a delicious addition to savory dishes. Roasted, mashed, or fried, sweet potatoes can be the hearty star of casseroles, soups, stews, and salads.

Apples are a fruit that pair very well with the warm spices of fall. In both savory and sweet dishes, apples bring a sweet or tart kick, depending on the type of apple used. So don’t be afraid to use apples in your pies, stuffings, and even beverages.
