Sweet Tomatoes Offers Sweet Deal: $5 All-You-Care-To-Eat at New Las Vegas Location in mid-May

The newest Sweet Tomatoes, located at 9460 West Flamingo Road, off the 215 Freeway in the Metreon Las Vegas Shopping Center in Las Vegas, is scheduled to open on Monday, May 17. To celebrate the grand opening, Sweet Tomatoes has partnered with Nevada Cancer Institute, by hosting a preview fundraiser event on the following dates:

  • Thursday, May 13, from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Friday, May 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, May 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

For only five dollars, guests can enjoy Sweet Tomatoes’ 45-foot salad bar full of fresh, seasonal vegetables and tossed salads, made-from-scratch soups and hand-crafted muffins, focaccia, breads and desserts. Sweet Tomatoes will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to Nevada Cancer Institute, a non-profit organization committed to reducing the burden of cancer by pursuing the development of a comprehensive cancer center.

The new Las Vegas location will accommodate 220 guests and offer a rotating menu of more than 100 original, made fresh daily recipes featuring signature salads, soups, bakery goods and hot pasta sauces, at an all-you-care-to-eat price.  All food is prepared without the use of artificial flavors, colors, additives or artificial trans fats.  A different food theme is featured each month and the most popular menu items are rotated every two weeks.  Items are showcased on a 45-foot salad bar and prepared exhibition style every 20 minutes.

“We are so grateful to our community partners whose fundraising efforts are heartening and crucial to NVCI’s mission and continued success,” commented John C. Ruckdeschel, M.D. Director and CEO of NVCI. “Since its inception, the overarching goal of Nevada Cancer Institute has been to become a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center, of which there are only 40 in the U.S., and efforts like this one help us achieve that goal.”

Sweet Tomatoes seeks to be a vital and contributing part of each community in which it operates. To reach this goal, restaurants offer a “Fun-Raiser” program through which charities, churches, schools, athletic teams, scout troops and other non-profit organizations may raise funds by hosting in-store events. The restaurants assist in marketing the non-profit’s event by creating master flyers for distribution and promotion.

Sweet Tomatoes in Las Vegas will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on weekdays, 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Sundays.  For more information call (702) 242-0277 or visit www.sweetomatoes.com. 1. Can’t wait for this Las Vegas Sweet Tomatoes on Flamingo to open. It’s only 2 miles from my home & my family doesn’t have to go far to enjoy a great meal! We’ve been fans of Sweet Tomatoes since they first came to Las Vegas at Rainbow & Lake Mead some 14 years ago. It’s about time you’re in the SW Las Vegas location!! Thanks!

  3. Phenomenal! Sweet Tomatoes is my family’s favorite restaurant, and we’re thrilled about this new location in Summerlin. As for partnering with Nevada Cancer Institute – – it’s pure genius, because it is one of the best nonprofits in the city. Can’t wait for May!

  4. SOoooo happy you are opening a Sweet Tomatoes nearby. We have been going to the other one for so long and this will be much more convenient,( more time to eat, less time to travel).
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

  5. Greetings from The Villages in Florida.

I have been a customer of Sweet Tomatoes for a long time and would think that it would be a great business decision if you were to locate a store in The Villages (Lady Lake) of Florida. The location is a community of over 75,000 residents and growing that is close to Ocala, the Horse capital of the world. The demographics are a health conscious total spectrum of age’s groupings from teens to seniors. The competition is ripe for the only competitor the Golden Corral in this location is a second generation franchise who is more show than service to respond to quality conscious consumers, this is not to say they could not infuse the restaurateur culture in their business but the nepotism would delay the good business sense needed to service a business that would bring healthy product at a fair price to a wholesome surrounding. Almost like shooting fish in a barrel.

I do not work for the Villages though am associated with the health profession in the area and see the proactive nature of this successful community that provides nightly outdoor entertainment for the citizens that draws heavily crowds in this location. It would be a natural fit as the “go to place” for eating before the nightly outdoor concerts as well as a good place to provide catering service needed to fill the single choice of the country clubs that are not set up for this service who I may add price their service as a irritation rather than a service.

As a patron I would enjoy the fact that I do not have to travel more than an hour to visit your restaurant and as a resident I know that I can say your presence would be well respected by the community. I hope that your resource team would consider this.

    Thank you,

    Vonda Coffelt

  6. I must say that I agree with Vondza, a location in the Villages would be off the chain busy, it would probably be one of the most successful locations you could open up in Florida. The only place I know that has busier restaurants (and where there isn’t a Sweet Tomatoes) is in Kissimmee, Florida………everyone there is at the top of their chains volume list!

  7. We are thrilled to have Sweet Tomatoes in our center. We have The Nutrition Outlet and we are doing our Grand Opening on Saturday will be donating as well. Love me some Sweet Tomatoes!

  8. On behalf of cancer patients in Nevada, I want to thank you for your support of Nevada Cancer Institute during your pre-opening period! As a long-time patient of NVCI, I have seen tremendous growth of the Institute due to community support in large ways, and I hope this fundraiser will be HUGE!

  9. Thsnk you for building a Sweet Tommato in The Villages ( Flordia). Can not wait for opening day…Merry Christmas Vonda

    1. The Villages Sweet Tomatoes is scheduled to open in April 2011. Please keep checking back to the blog for more information and join Club Veg to get the latest updates.

  10. Hello,

We are interested in helping you with your fundraiser on May 19 for lunch. Your dates are a little off on you advertisement stated above but we were wondering if we couldn’t somehow reserve a table for approx. a dozen guests that day around 12PM or 1PM to eat. We could use your event as our community service project for our organization that month because ironically we were planning on having a group visit Massage Envy prior to lunch and then come over to you to have lunch. We just realized you were doing this event and it seemed so perfectly timed. Thank you!

    1. I just realized why the dates are not in sync. This is merely an ad that you did back in 2010! Someone just sent me this link thinking that it was for this May. So, can someone call me about doing an event for our group instead? Sorry!

      1. If you are interested in doing a fundraiser at our Sweet Tomatoes locations then you can sign up online on our FUN raiser page. Visit our home page and at the top of the page is a tab that reads FUNraiser, from there, you can fill out the online application. It is that easy.

The $5. fundraiser mentioned in this blog relates to our grand opening in Las Vegas and is a one-time event as a pre-opening fundraiser.
Please let us know any other questions. Thanks!
