Sweet Tomatoes to open Lady Lake Location in April

Pre-opening “fun-raiser” benefiting Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake & Sumter Counties

(LADY LAKE) – The newest Sweet Tomatoes, located at 508 US 27/441 in Lady Lake, is scheduled to open on Monday, April 4. To celebrate the grand opening, Sweet Tomatoes has partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake and Sumter Counties, by hosting a preview fundraiser event on the following dates:

  • Friday, April 1, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, April 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

For only five dollars, guests can enjoy Sweet Tomatoes’ 45-foot salad bar full of fresh, seasonal vegetables and tossed salads, made-from-scratch soups and hand-crafted muffins, focaccia, breads and desserts. Sweet Tomatoes will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake and Sumter Counties, a non-profit that provides significant leadership in the area of community involvement in the education and well-being of our youth, grounded in the principle that quality afterschool programs are key to helping our children become successful adults.

The new Lady Lake location will offer a rotating menu of more than 100 original, made fresh daily recipes featuring signature salads, soups, bakery goods and hot pasta sauces, at an all-you-care-to-eat price.  All food is prepared without the use of artificial flavors, colors, additives or artificial trans fats.  A different food theme is featured each month and the most popular menu items are rotated every two weeks.  Items are showcased on a 45-foot salad bar and prepared exhibition style every 20 minutes.

“The Boys & Girls Clubs is excited to partner with Sweet Tomatoes for their grand opening in Lady Lake. With three locations in surrounding areas, our goal is to open a new Boys & Girls Clubs location in Lady Lake for the children in the area.” said Joni Smith, Chief Professional Officer for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lake and Sumter Counties. “There is a need and demand for a program like ours in the area, and we hope to fulfill that in the near future”

Sweet Tomatoes seeks to be a vital and contributing part of each community in which it operates. To reach this goal, restaurants offer a “Fun-Raiser” program through which charities, churches, schools, athletic teams, scout troops and other non-profit organizations may raise funds by hosting in-store events. The restaurants assist in marketing the non-profit’s event by creating master flyers for distribution and promotion.

Sweet Tomatoes in Lady Lake will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on weekdays, 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Sundays.  For more information visit www.sweetomatoes.com. For more information on the Boys & Girls Clubs visit www.bgclsc.org.

      1. The food was great and staff most helpful. Am so happy you are here! Plan to talk it up and go once a week!!! Great restaurant. sb

  3. Everytime we came home from eating at the Sweet Tomatoes in Altamonte Springs, I would send an email to your headquarters asking you PUH LEEZ to come to the Leesburg-Lady Lake area. We are jumpin’ up and down excited that you will finally be here. I just kin hardly wait!

  4. Thank you for listening to us and opening a Sweet Tomatoes near us. Our grand kids also have made use of the boys and Girls club in Leesburg so thank you for your support

  5. I attended the fund raiser Friday. By the time the door opened, the line was wrapped around the restaurant. The restaurant is too small. It filled up quickly; and an hour later there was still a line because all of the tables were taken and no one else could get in.
There are about 80,000 people in the Villages with another 300,000 people in the surrounding area. The next nearest Sweet Tomatoes is about 90 miles away. The majority of the attendees had been to a Sweet Tomatoes before. I don’t think the Company was committed to the area and this restaurant. In the near future, I am hoping they will expand or move to a bigger facility.
The sidewalk is much too narrow and there is a big drop off to the parking lot. I use a wheelchair and I was afraid of falling off. The transition from sidewalk to parking lot needs to be smooth for most of the front of the building. The parking is way too small; only two deep and narrow for backing up. Maybe they should consider moving the entrance to a side with more parking available.
First day problems. The soup was emptied by the first round. Possibly the containers should have been larger especially for the more popular soups. When more was brought out, it was ice cold. I don’t know if the heating element at the station was not working or what. At any rate, the soup should have been heated before bringing out to the station. The waitress said she would tell them and bring me out some hot soup; which she never did.
The handicap seating was the farthest from the food and the only way to get to the food stations was to try to move down a very narrow aiisle between occupied ltables. Corporate might consider this when designing future restaurants.
The lemon lava cake was a big hit and absolutely delicious. Most of the men ate this dessert; the other desserts were more delicate, exotic and complicated. The restaurant kept running out.
Even with all of the physical location problems, I am so thankful to finally have a Sweet Tomatoes near here. Now I can go there more than once a year or so.

  6. Our family went Friday night and had a great time. We had about a 30 min wait but it was worth it. Everything we ate was very good and the staff was wonderful. I agree that it is a little small for the area but time will tell. Thank you so much for coming to our area. My daughter turns 16 this summer and her request for her birthday was to go to Sweet Tomatoes and that was before we knew you were coming here. So now we can do that for her. Thanks again!!

  7. I went to Sweet Tomatoes every time we were in the Orlando area. I was so excited when we heard you’d be just a few miles from us. Then disaster—find I’m gluten intolerant. I know the breads, pasta etc are a no-no, but are there any gluten free items in the restaurant?

  8. Went to the breakfast buffet this morning – what a disappointment. The hot breakfast items were mostly all very overcooked. The gravy for the biscuits (hard and overcooked) was watery and tasteless and I never did figure out what the “mystery meat” was. Will never go the breakfast buffet again. On the plus side, the salad bar and soup were the usual good items that we expect from a Sweet Tomatoes. We will try again for lunch and hope it lives up to what we are used to at other Sweet Tomato locations.. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the place was very clean. If the breakfast hot bar is brought up to par you will have another winner. Welcome to Lady Lake.
